St Frideswide’s, dedicated to the patroness of Oxford, seeks to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the local community of West Oxford. Since our church was founded in the nineteenth century,we have built up Christians in the faith through the celebration of the sacraments and the study of holy scripture.
The church has a modern Anglo-Catholic tradition, and our regular worship is focused on the eucharist. The sacrament of reconciliation and spiritual direction is available upon request. Whether you are a regular communicant or wishing to explore your faith, St Frideswide’s will offer you a warm welcome. For those who are exploring the faith,we offer our Christian Belief Course. This course explores the major themes and doctrines of Christianity.
Our beautiful church is an excellent place to celebrate baptisms and weddings. Please contact the Vicar for details of how to arrange a special service. We offer pastoral help and spiritual direction upon request, and the church is available for funerals for those who live in the parish or have connections with the church.
Our Sunday worship is traditional yet friendly, with familiar hymns and a thoughtful sermon.
